Explore timeless Stonington, Maine and surrounding areas with recognized local photographer Fred Bloy. Coastal Maine is full of quaint working harbors with bold scenic coasts…Stonington quietly encapsulates all of that. With Stonington being off the beaten path it has remained fixed in time offering picturesque and gorgeous scenes that are undershot. Join Fred as he shows you around a place he knows so well while sharing his favorite insights and photographic techniques with you! Fred will determine exact shooting locations based on weather and sea conditions. Possible locations will be around Stonington Harbor, the beautiful granite shore of Sand Beach, the many quite saltwater inlets, Pumpkin Lighthouse, and the historic Deer Isle Bridge. We will make the absolute most of the conditions we get and photograph from sunrise to sunset.

While on location Fred will be there to individually assist, educate, and give gentle critiques to help achieve your personal goals. These workshops are meant to provide an engaging and fun learning experience with close one on one guidance and instruction. There will also be classroom time where we will discuss how to plan a shoot, execute in the field, and process images afterwords. Fred will share some his favorite Lightroom editing techniques and will then open the floor to look at student work and give feedback. Fred will help new photographers learn the basics and seasoned photographers take their skills to a higher level. Its not all work and photography though! We will enjoy the local cuisine together over some good laughs as well! If there is time and weather permitting a private motor boat will be available during free time in which Fred can take those interested out to explore the outer islands. You will come out of this workshop with new and extensive knowledge in photography but perhaps most of all, lasting bonds and friendships! Workshops will be limited to 5 people and will fill up fast.
